"Most of the album is good time rock-on-out-music a la the Flamin’ Groovies… one of those (albums) you keep coming back to when the night gets cold and the wine is almost out. I play it a lot, and that’s the nicest thing I can say about an album.”

Ed Ward, Rolling Stone

"Siren just came as a breath of fresh air really, in the same way that like a generation later The Ramones did. When you just thought 'Thank God for that!' You hadn't realised how bored you'd become…”

John Peel, 1997

‘Siren’ was Kevin’s debut album with Siren, the band he founded with former Bonzo Dog Band bassist Dave Clague and pianist/guitarist Nick Cudworth.

Originally issued on John Peel’s Dandelion label in 1969, ‘Siren’ has been unavailable on CD for many years.

This deluxe 2-CD edition has been re-mastered from the original tapes, with a bonus disc of rare home and studio recordings from the period, previously only available on fanclub-style releases.

As well as featuring the band’s first demo for Blue Horizon Records and non-album singles for Dandelion, the 16-page booklet includes rare and previously unseen photos and cuttings, new and insightful sleeve-notes written specially for this release by founder member Nick Cudworth, and a rare piece written by Kevin for KLAP magazine in 1970.
